Subliminal messages are suggestions offered below the level of consciousness.

These are messages that have the form of visual images or spoken words. Such suggestions are hidden in other forms of media such as still pictures, movies, music or other sound files.

These suggestions are intended to avoid the common consciousness of perception and provoke a response from the subconscious.

Subliminal messages can be visual or auditory in nature and are designed to stimulate a response from the subconscious mind so that affects thought processes and the decisions we make consciously. It is believed that may have positive or negative influence on the decisions of the person in contact with them and it is believed that a great influence on the thoughts, beliefs, feelings and actions is more important!

The term derives from the Latin subliminal where sub means below and limen means threshold. Thus, subliminal messages are suggestions below are threshold level.

They came to the attention of the general public in the middle of last century. In 1957 a researcher named James Vicary conducted an experiment very issue in a local theater. The words of popcorn and coca cola is shone on a film of only a fraction of a second each. Vicario said that this sequence subliminal messages resulted in a large increase in sales of both products. This experiment was discussed for many years and has caused much disagreement in the scientific community community.

In recent years, however, there have been few studies conducted by experienced senior researchers who have found subliminal messages to be much more effective that have led us to believe. For example, a highly respected research scientist, called Bahador Bahrami, at the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience at University College London found such suggestions do not appeal to the brain!

In fact there are an increasing number of studies and mounting evidence to suggest that affect us at a deep level of mind.

In 1958, a Wilson Bryan Key's book Subliminal Seduction call made claims that subliminal techniques were widely used in advertising. If you check out YouTube is clearly going to be many examples of subliminal messages is still widely used in advertising today!

I have altered aspects of my personality and made many leaps forward in my development staff through the use of subliminal technology. Therefore, I strongly believe in their ability to create profound change.

However, as with everything says in life, there's really only one way to get a clear picture of whether subliminal messages are effective and that is through experience! The only way we know for certain whether the lead.
