Standard Cannon
Urgent question.?

I have a digital SLR camera (cannon 400d) and wondered if the lenses are standard Cannon? We have a board ads for buying and selling at work, and does anyone understand the value of the lenses and selling one at a reasonable price to be a cannon EOS 5000. Does this lens fits my 400d? I am getting into photography, have enrolled in the courses and things, but we have much to learn about the technical side of things, so really appreciate your help!

All EF lenses for Canon and lensmakers be physically fit all Canon EOS cameras. However, in 2003, Canon introduced a new digital camera, the consumer-oriented 300D/Digital EOS Rebel / Kiss Digital camera, wearing a new mounting design called EF-S lenses. All consumers midrange EOS digital cameras released since then have been both EF and EF-S compatible. For various reasons, no film camera has EF-S always been compatible. So it's important to remember that digital camera bodies with EF-S mounts are fully compatible with all EF lenses regularly. However, EF-S lens fit only EF-S compatible cameras and not others (unless it is modified.) Regular bodies and EF lenses to use red dots for alignment of the lens and body. EF-S bodies have a white square, so it must be lined up the white square on EF-S. Interestingly, the EF-S also have rings rubber around the end of the press against the inside of the camera body. This is not as sophisticated as the time stamps used in the L series lenses, but presumably helps reduce dust levels inside the chamber a bit. Moreover, according to Canon, this ring minimizes damage, if you were to try to mount an EF-S EF-in a single camera. So ... assuming your camera is an SLR EF-S, this goal will require. If you have an EF camera, and this is an EF-S lens, you may have a problem. How do you know what kind of lens that is? Simple - you look at the target. In block letters it should say something like "objective Canon EF 200mm 1:2.8 L II USM. Ø72mm. "Immediately after Canon Lens EF see? That means it is an EF lens. Hope this helps - happy shooting!
